Heartbreak might be the central theme of many of Adele’s songs, but the 34-year-old is making no secret of her romance with sports agent, Rich Paul. The couple had been friends for some time, before going public with their relationship in July 2021 and buying a Beverley Hill mansion together this year. And she gets candid about her love life as she stars on the September cover of Elle magazine. “I’ve never been in love like this. I’m obsessed with him”, she gushes.

Adele credits Rich with encouraging her to live her life and stop avoiding things because of her fame. After revealing she wanted to holiday in Italy, but was nervous of cameras “He was like, ‘You would let that stop you from going to the place that you most want to go on vacation?’,” she details. “He’s like, ‘For one photograph, what’s the worst that can happen?” And so the happy couple jetted off to Porto Cervo, Italy in July for a well-earned getaway.

Rumours have been rife that the couple are engaged after the “Hello” singer was spotted with a giant diamond on her finger at the Brits, but she remains tight-lipped about their official status. “I’m just in loooove! I’m happy as I’ll ever be. I might as well be married.” She has also been open about her desire to have more kids to join her blended family with son, Angelo, and Rich’s three kids from a previous relationship. “I’m a homemaker and I’m a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music.”

While Adele’s personal life has been progressing nicely, her 2022 got off to a tumultuous start as she cancelled her Vegas residency just one day before it was due to begin, as “there was just no soul in it.” She bravely took the executive decision to postpone the show to make it the best it could be, but was faced with disappointment and criticism from fans who had spent money on tickets. “It was the worst moment of my career, so far,” she says. She deleted Twitter and “went into hiding” after making the “brutal” announcement.

In July, she took to social media to inform fans that “Weekends with Adele” at the Colosseum at Las Vegas’s Caesars Palace hotel will kick off on 18 November 2022. “I’m very proud of myself for standing by my artistic needs,” she tells Elle as she says her brain is now consumed with the upcoming show. “I wanna f*cking nail it.”

The residency follows her epic Hyde Park Shows — her first concert in five years — and gave her the bug for performing live again. “London crowds are the best,” she says. Amen to that!
