Dua Lipa has been giving a style masterclass in how to do Halloween in the chicest way. The “Potion” singer added a carousel of snaps to her Instagram on 27 Oct. in an outfit that channels the spooky season icon, Wednesday Addams. In typical Lipa form, she is not one to copy a look entirely, but instead chose to bring her individual style to the monochrome outfit that is decidedly more edgy than the usual Addams attire.
Captioning the post, “exploring Naoshima 🌙”, Lipa opted for the Halloween-inspired look during her trip to Japan. Wearing a black oversized, single-breasted blazer, with no top underneath, the plunging collar added a risqué layer to the outfit. In a nod to Wednesday Addams, of which the new Netflix series “Wednesday” is based, she added a sharp white collar with black ribbon tie, leaving the actual shirt panel missing. She teamed the blazer with a black maxi skirt, complete with split at the back, socks pulled high with chunky loafers. Keeping her hair long with a middle parting and subtle waves, just like Morticia Addams, her thick winged eyeliner brought the whole look together.
A day earlier, Lipa tried another costume on for size. A sleek racing suit covered in Givenchy logos was giving serious “Fast & Furious” vibes as she captioned the snaps, “TOKYO DRIFT”, proving she really is theming her outfits for the season.
Lipa has been busy on her “Future Nostalgia” tour which has seen her wear a number of sleek catsuits on stage, but the singer has still managed to squeeze in some downtime. As well as heading on holiday with friends for her 27th birthday in August, she made a quick stop in London to hang out with Queen Consort, Camilla, for the Booker Prize 2022, and is currently taking a quick break in Japan before she kicks off the next leg of her tour in Auckland, New Zealand.
While she might be super busy, it’s great to see Lipa embrace Halloween costumes by incorporating them subtly into her wardrobe. She joins the likes of Millie Bobby Brown, Kylie Jenner, and Vanessa Hudgens who have also been sporting Halloween costumes, albeit in a more outlandish way. We can’t wait to see what Lipa has up her sleeve next, we wouldn’t be surprised if she started “Levitating” to really get in the spooky spirit . . .
