Greg James Fronts New Channel 4 Show, “Rise and Fall”
BBC Radio 1 host Greg James has been tapped up to present a new Channel 4 reality TV show called “Rise and Fall” — and it’s made by the same company that gave us “The Traitors“. Expect power plays, deception, and a whole lot of drama as James steps into Claudia Winkleman’s shoes to guide us through the new format, which we have a feeling is going to be compulsive viewing.
According to Deadline, “Rise and Fall” sees 16 people from different backgrounds begin the game as equals, but soon after they are divided into positions of power (the Rulers) or the powerless (the Grafters). The Rulers live in a fancy penthouse and make all the decisions, while the Grafters live in basic conditions in the basements. Only one person will walk away with a cash prize.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for a show like this to come along that I can get stuck into and be the ringleader of,” said James. “It’s an amazingly mad idea and the contestants are going to make some incredible TV.” James then took to his Instagram to tell his followers more about the premise, devised by Studio Lambert, in which he says “it’s a game of winning power, it’s about getting power, keeping power.” Consider us hooked!
There is no official release date for the 18-part series, but James posted his video from the penthouse filming location so it’s likely to be imminent. If you’re a fan of “The Traitors”, this has to be on your watchlist. We’ll be updating you with more news on the series as soon as we can.
