“Love Island” is set to return for its eighth series this summer, but there’s one thing that’s apparently going to be quite different about the show this time around. ITV has confirmed that it’ll be changing the location of the iconic villa and quite possibly scrapping the villa as a base altogether.
Fans of the show will know that the villa is probably one of the most important aspects of “Love Island”, so it’s a big deal that ITV is finally switching things up. It’s not clear as to how this will affect the Casa Amor twist that was introduced back in series three, but it comes with a whole host of other changes that are reportedly due to be introduced in the upcoming iteration.
In the past, “Love Island” has been critiqued for a number of reasons. In particular, the show has continually proven its lack of sexual and racial diversity and inclusivity, as well as its treatment of Black women, on the show. In addition to this, the show has a track record of disregarding the mental health and well-being of its contestants. As a result, viewers are interested to see what changes can be made and, more importantly, what changes will actually be made, before they stop watching the show altogether.
Stay tuned for more updates about the upcoming series of “Love Island”, set to return this summer.
