It might not be the end of 2022 quite yet, but 2023 is already looking up. We are being treated to a double dose of awkward re-couplings, firepit chats, and Casa Amor drama thanks to both a winter and summer “Love Island” series.
Ever since Ekin-Su and Davide were crowned the winners of “Love Island” 2022, we’ve been having withdrawal symptoms from the iconic villa, so it’s music to our ears that we won’t have to wait too much longer to discover who our type is on paper.

When Is Winter “Love Island” 2023 Starting?
ITV2 are remaining tight-lipped about an official launch date of the winter series, but we know it is sometime in January 2023. Unconfirmed reports have speculated that 16 January is a likely start, but we are waiting for the green light. The last — and first — time we were given a winter “Love Island” was back in 2020 when the launch was 12 January, so we are hedging our bets on the middle of the month.
Where Will the winter “Love Island” 2023 Villa be?
While the summer series is usually set in a plush Majorcan villa, the winter series is set in a gorgeous complex in South Africa to capitalise on the warmer climate in winter.
Who Will be the winter “Love Island” 2023 Presenter?
Following the finale of the 2022 summer series, host Laura Whitmore announced she would be stepping down from her role. The TV star had been at the helm of the reality TV show since 2020, when she took over from the late Caroline Flack, but revealed she had conflicting projects that clash with future schedules.
Instead, after much speculation about potential replacements, Maya Jama was announced as the new “Love Island” host on 11 Oct. “I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows! I can’t wait to get into the Villa to meet all of the Islanders,” she said.

While we’ve had seven summer series of “Love Island”, there has only been one winter season which took place in January 2020, just before the pandemic. The location was Cape Town, South Africa, and Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were crowned the winners. They are also one of the few “Love Island” couples who are still together and are more loved-up than ever.
Who Is in the Winter “Love Island” 2023 Lineup?
We are yet to know who the Islanders for the winter series will be, and are unlikely to find out about the new singletons until early January. In the meantime, take a trip down memory lane and remind yourself of the entertaining, divisive, and legendary stars of “Love Island” 2022.
